Projects Lawyer (Energy & Infrastructure) / 2-4 Years / Melbourne

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Projects Lawyer to join a high-performing Energy & Infrastructure team in Melbourne, within a leading international law firm renowned for its work on complex project development and financing matters.

Working with respected partners across Australia and the firm's global network, you'll advise on sophisticated Australian and cross-border transactions spanning energy, transport, renewables and major infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to build your expertise while working with premier clients on market-leading matters.

The Role

You will gain exposure to a broad range of project development work, including:

  • Advising on major energy and infrastructure developments from procurement through to delivery

  • Drafting and negotiating construction, procurement and commercial project agreements

  • Supporting project finance transactions and associated contractual documentation

  • Advising consortiums, sponsors, contractors, equity investors and financiers

  • Coordinating legal workstreams across complex, multi-party transactions

  • Managing client relationships and providing commercially focused legal advice

  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across multiple jurisdictions

  • Assisting clients to identify and manage contractual and regulatory risks throughout the project lifecycle

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2 - 4 years' PQE

  • Experience in projects, project development, construction, energy or infrastructure law

  • Exposure to transport, power and/or renewable energy projects (highly regarded)

  • Strong drafting, analytical and negotiation skills

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously

  • Outstanding communication and client relationship skills

  • A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working on international transactions
